I have the Ultra V1 running on the my JRSC D16Y8 (jackson kit 989-200).
The install went just fine. I was doing the sensitivity adjusment where you reccomend to take the car on the freeway and increase sensitivity until it just starts to get a reading from engine noise.
Even at full sensitivity I was unable to get any activity from engine noise (light to moderate throttle in 5h gear pulling < 10in hg vaccum). I know the unit is working becuase I do get activity during hard accelerations in 2nd gear and in a few spots in 3rd gear.
My question is how do I adjust sensitivity given these conditions?
Thanks

I do not have my monitor yet, so I am looking at the LED (one on the left side) so activity.
I know it is working becuase I get activity when the sensitivity is set high and I run through 2nd. My problem is that per the instructions, I do not get any activity from engine noise. So, how do I set the sensitivity?
Any thoughts? Anyone?

10-11 o'clock is usually the optimum sensitivity setting.

1. Are you using the dual monitor to check for knock activity? or are you looking at the LED on the J&S unit?
2. Does the onboard LED light up when you turn on power? It should if it's working.
3. If you are looking at the LED on the J&S unit and it doesn't turn on at power on, then there's a possibility that the LED is either defective or installed backward.
My unit had the same problem. The LED was installed backward which John from J&S later fixed. If your unit has a socket for the LED, try changing the mounting position.
